Dave Gallup
Co-founder of EMLab P&K
Dave joined EMLab P&K in 1997 after 10 years of engineering and management in the
automotive industry. He has positioned EMLab P&K as a leader in the IAQ industry by
recruiting and training the most experienced microbiologists and by implementing quality
control systems taken from the air bag sensor industry to ensure that EMLab P&K
consistently provides the highest quality and service. Dave holds eight patents and
received his B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from the California Institute of
Technology and a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
Dr. Harriet Burge
Director of Aerobiology and Chair of EMLab P&K's Scientific Advisory Board
Widely considered the leading expert in bioaerosols, Dr. Burge helped pioneer the field
more than 30 years ago. She developed and ran the aerobiology program at the Harvard
School of Public Health for 10 years, and has served on many National Academy of
Sciences committees on bioaerosols. Dr. Burge also served on the Board of Directors
of the New England Chapter of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
Christine Meyer
Laboratory Director, EMLab P&K Phoenix
Christine Meyer has worked in the indoor air quality field since 2000. She began with
the legacy Aerotech group and worked as the Mycology Department Manager the majority of
this time. She has been on the Board of Directors for the Pan-American Aerobiology
Certification Board since 2004. Along with her expertise in the analysis of indoor air
quality samples, Christine has many years of laboratory management experience. Christine
is responsible for the Phoenix, Denver, Fort Worth and Houston laboratory operations.
Kamash Ramanathan
Laboratory Director, EMLab P&K San Bruno
Dr. Kamash Ramanathan received his Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology and
Biochemistry from the University of Idaho. In 2001, He joined EMLab P&K after
years of conducting scientific research and teaching in the field of microbiology.
Dr. Ramanathan possesses vast experience in laboratory management and is a member
of various academic and scientific organizations and serves as a technical expertise
in the field of microbiology and molecular biology. Dr. Ramanathan oversees the
San Bruno, California laboratory and in addition is responsible for overall operations
and service quality provided through our laboratories in the Western Region.
Eric Ciotti
Laboratory Director, EMLab P&K Cherry Hill
Eric Ciotti has a Bachelors of Science Cum Laude with a concentration in Environmental
Health Sciences from Salisbury University's Richard A. Henson School of Science and
Technology. Eric served as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Public Health
Service. Eric has been with the legacy P&K Microbiology and EMLab groups since 2002.
Eric brings a welath of successful experiences through a variety of roles including:
Sample Processing Technician, Spore Trap Analyst, Legionella Analyst, Project Manager,
and Northeast Regional Account Manager. As the Regional Laboratory Director of EMLab
P&K's Eastern Region, Eric is responsible for the operation of the laboratories
located in Cherry Hill, NJ, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Naperville, IL, and Fairfax, VA.
Michael Berg, Ph.D.
Senior Molecular Biologist, EMLab P&K
Dr. Michael Berg received his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Darmstadt,
Germany. He joined EMLab P&K in 2005 after years of conducting scientific research
in the field of Plant Pathology and Molecular Genetics. Dr. Berg was working as research
scientist with BASF, Biologische Bundesanstalt fuer Land- und Forstwirtschaft (Federal
Biological Research Center for Agriculture and Forestry), and the Oklahoma State
University.
Joseph Manfrida, Ph.D.
Lean Six Sigma Manager and Technical Trainer, EMLab P&K
In the capacity of Lean Six Sigma Manager and Technical Trainer, Dr. Manfrida is
responsible for both the implementation of EMLab P&K's continuous improvement
program for quality and efficiency as well as the education of our clients in the
application of services we offer. Joseph originally joined EMLab P&K in 2007 as a
bacteriology and mycology analyst and was instrumental in establishing EMLab P&K's
USP <797> services. Dr. Manfrida is a member of both the American Society for
Microbiology and the American Society for Quality. He holds a B.S. in Biology from the
University of Texas and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Arizona State University.
