Indoor Allergen Testing Lab Services
Indoor allergens from dust mites, cockroaches, rodents and pets (including cats and dogs) are known to cause allergic reactions and respiratory disease in sensitive people at residential and occupational settings. As leader in the indoor air quality industry, EMLab P&K has been supporting allergen testing services on settled house dust for decades. In addition, we can assist with your environmental air monitoring projects to address laboratory animal allergies (mouse and rat). Methods for allergen testing include Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and the Multiplex Array for Indoor Allergens (MARIA®).

What is the ELISA method?
Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is one of the best validated and most routinely used immunoassay in allergy research, diagnosis and allergy-related quality control in various industries. ELISA testing has a high quantitative reliability and provides a sensitive method for the detection of allergens in dust samples. ELISA tests are a very popular choice for the evaluation of various research and diagnostic targets. ELISA has been the gold standard for indoor allergen exposure assessment for over 30 years.
What is MARIA® technology?
The Multiplex Array for Indoor Allergens (MARIA®) allows the most common indoor allergens to be detected at once in a single test. It provides accurate exposure levels for all the common allergens in the home in a single test: three dust mite allergens, cat, dog, mouse, rat and cockroach. MARIA® testing can analyze multiple allergens at once and has improved sensitivity and accuracy.
