The Micro5 MicroCell is the first spore trap impactor in the industry capable of both personal and conventional area sampling.
The cut-off size, d50 , is seen to be about 1 um. This means that the sampler is suitable for collecting all fungal species because their spores are generally greater than 1.5 um (referring to both the optical and aerodynamic diameters). Furthermore, many bacterial species, which have spores ranging from 1 to 2 um (smaller than most of fungi), may also be collected efficiently, thus extending the area of application of the new sampler. Based on this finding, we believe that the Micro 5 may find a broader application in the field than the currently available devices used for the airborne spore enumeration, which typically have d50 2.5 m.
To ensure quality assurance, sampling supplies such as sampling cassettes, tape-lift kits, media, swabs, etc., cannot be returned.
